July 2024 Update

So here we are. Made it to July. What started out with a hope that we’d get just enough players for a team has turned into three teams, productive training sessions, and we’re already seeing improvement in the skills of our players.

We have been lucky to have players dedicated to training. We opened up Saturday trainings to help our players struggling with the need to work during the summer and the their desire to train. What we found was all of our players took to the idea of training on Saturdays and they still come during the week, regularly.

Last weekend those who attended Saturday training followed it up at the same house and spent hours bonding and getting to know each other more; swimming, eating pizza, and rounding it off with a FIFA tournament against their coaches!

These players are finding common ground even though they come from Toombs, Montgomery, Wheeler, Wayne, Tatnall, and Jeff Davis counties. It’s encouraging to provide a healthy and supportive environment focused on a higher level of training and see there are players out there interested in being a part of it.

We’re attending our first tournament in August in Athens and I’m so excited to see the hard work of these players pay off. We’re loving the progress we’ve made, where we’re going, and can’t wait for more people to see it and want to join.
